Death Valley | California
After sleeping outside Vegas, we heading into Death Valley for Thanksgiving day! We met up with our close friend Annie and headed to Badwater Basin, the lowest point in North America at 282 ft below sea level. We setup camp above the Basin, went on a hike, watched the sunset and had a fabulous Thanksgiving dinner!

After enjoying a lovely breakfast at sunrise, we jumped on our bikes and headed up the canyon. Carly took the lead, Matt followed behind with his broken bike, and Annie and Breckie held up the rear. Magical views in all directions.
After Badwater we headed north to Eureka Dunes. However, driving 5 hours on dirt roads isn’t the best experience, so we decided to find a place to call home for the night half way on the drive. The stars were magical.
After a long drive on many dirt roads, we finally made it to Eureka Dunes. However, Carly and Annie were no where to be seen. Since we were in separate cars they stopped half way and decided to go on an impromptu hike. I eventually figured out that I should turn around and go find them, however the mid day views were keeping me quite busy.
Back at the dunes, we decided to celebrate our long drive with a beer at sunset.
One of the highlights of our trip is illustrated below. With a 5am wake up call, we hiked up to the top of the dunes for coffee and one of the most amazing sunrises. Not only was our location and morning perfect. We had the entire due to ourselves.
